NYU SPS Recognizes the Dedication and Service of its Faculty Members During the Annual Faculty Recognition Celebration

NYU SPS faculty members are what truly define the unique and transformational education the School offers. They serve as teachers, counselors, and mentors, sharing their knowledge and wisdom with NYU SPS students from across the disciplines.

Their work inside and outside of the classroom touches the lives and inspires the personal and professional success of thousands of students each year. To recognize and celebrate faculty members for their excellence in teaching, their outstanding service to SPS, and their years of dedication to our School, NYU SPS annually hosts the Faculty Recognition Celebration—a festive tradition that demonstrates the School’s appreciation for faculty members and the tireless efforts they make to prepare the next generation of leaders and innovators for the opportunities ahead.

During this year’s virtual ceremony, held on April 28, 2022, faculty members were recognized with the Milestone Years of Service Award, the Teaching Excellence Award, and the Outstanding Service Award. Also recognized was the finalist for the University’s Distinguished Teaching Award, Carolyn Kissane, clinical professor and assistant dean, Center for Global Affairs.

A moment of recognition was held for the late Edward Kleinert, as well as for Patrick Comstock, faculty members who both passed away unexpectedly this year. Comstock also was posthumously recognized with a Teaching Excellence Award.
