Gary Winter

A graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing Program, Gary joins the CALA MS team with 25+ years working at NYU. His plays have been produced at the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville (2015 Heideman Award) and various other theaters. Gary recently translated the memoir of Ady Mandelbaum (French to English), about her experience in the Auschwitz concentration camp. The translation was accepted by the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. Gary has been a mentor and editor with the PEN Prison Writing Program, and has worked with the Petey Greene Program tutoring incarcerated men.
