<p><i>In <a href="https://www.sps.nyu.edu/courses/INTG1-GC2100-social-media-the-brand.html">Social Media and the Brand</a>, students learn how effective use of social media integrates into an overall digital marketing strategy and overarching brand strategy. The course is taught by business development and digital marketing consultant, personal brand advisor, coach, and <a href="https://www.sps.nyu.edu/faculty-directory/1261-joanne-tombrakos.html">NYU SPS Adjunct Associate Professor Joanne Tombrakos</a>.</i></p>

Amplifying Brand Development via Social Media

<p>Students explore how social platforms can be leveraged not only to boost brand visibility but also to engage with cultural moments in ways that resonate authentically with audiences. The course emphasizes the connection between social media activity and measurable business outcomes, including revenue generation and long-term brand equity.</p>

Leveraging the Pros & Cons of Influence & Perception

<p>Participants delve into the complexities of how social media conversations can both enhance and undermine brand reputation. Students will learn to evaluate the risks associated with online discourse, including misinformation, shifting public sentiment, and the challenges of maintaining consistent brand perception in dynamic digital environments.</p>

Hands-on Marketing Practice and Campaign Design

<p>Through a combination of situational analyses, audits, and a culminating team project, students develop practical experience designing social media campaigns that balance creativity with strategic intent with an emphasis on aligning campaign execution with broader brand goals, vision, and values while encouraging meaningful social conversation among target audiences.</p>

Testing Brand Strategy in the Social Media Ecosystem

<p><a href="https://www.sps.nyu.edu/courses/INTG1-GC2100-social-media-the-brand.html">Social Media and the Brand</a> students analyze and initiate brand strategy through social media by creating real content, evaluating platforms, navigating trends and risks, and launching full campaigns that sharpen their creativity, analytical skills, and cultural insights.</p>
