Martin Spergel

Adjunct Professor

Adjunct Professor, NYU SPS, Martin Spergel is a founding member of York College of CUNY, serving as Chair of the Natural Science Department and Chair of the Council of Academic Chairs. Dr. Spergel's research work focused on particle-nuclear interactions in astrophysics for planetary and lunar surfaces. Collaborating with scientists from Brookhaven National Labs, JPL, Oak Ridge, University of Maryland, and Princeton, he is the author of 37 papers and proceedings with over 1000 citations. He was Principal Investigator on NASA grants covering radiation effects in lunar and planetary surfaces. Dr. Spergel is a Visiting Scientist at the Hayden Planetarium, and a lecturer in the Distinguished Lecture Series. He is also a consultant to York College’s Science Departments, and CUNY’s Department of Remote and Distance Learning.
