Reading Homer's Odyssey: The Greatest Journey of Them All
After ten years at war and ten years lost at sea, Odysseus faces an identity crisis. Is he a "Nobody," or is he a warrior, king, husband, and father? Reread, or experience for the first time, Odysseus’ personal journey, an Odyssey of love, adventure, and self-discovery (an early case of post traumatic stress disorder). Together, we will analyze how the cleverest of all Trojan War heroes reasserts his identity, first by reciting his own story, then by re-forging bonds with his son, subjects, and faithful wife.
