NYU SPS Orientation and Welcome Programs

Orientation for NYUSPS students will begin shortly after move-in day. During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with your peers and to develop meaningful relationships that often last well beyond graduation. Throughout Orientation Week, you will enjoy programs and activities designed to help you to acclimate to NYU and to NYC. You will receive a detailed schedule for orientation in December.

NYU Welcome

During NYU Spring Welcome more than 200 events are scheduled for new and returning students! The welcome activities take place during the first few weeks of the spring semester, offering a series of special events, information sessions, and meetups that help students to dive into this new educational experience and all that it entails.

NYU Reads

NYU Reads brings the NYU community together around a single common reading, chosen by a University committee made up of faculty, students, and administrators.  Building on the University’s undergraduate schools’ first-year reading programs, NYU Reads engages students in dialogue beyond Welcome Week and opens it up to the entire University community.

You’ll be notified by us about the book that has been chosen so you have plenty of time to read it prior to classes beginning.

Upcoming Communications

Throughout the summer, fall, and winter, we’ll keep you informed about opportunities, expectations, and deadlines, preparing you for your enrollment with NYU SPS. Please remember to check your NYU email account periodically, and watch for messages from your advisor. Feel free to contact your academic advisor or our Student Affairs team with any questions along the way.
