New Program Development

Introduction

Preparing a proposal for a new degree program is time and attention sensitive. The process relies on faculty and administrators to effectively gather and relay information from multiple sources. It also requires attention to detail and anticipating the needs relative to various audiences, which include reviewers within NYU SPS, the Office of Academic Program Review and Assessment (OAPRA) and the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

The Timeline & Checklist below provides structure in setting expectations, identifying deliverables, and understanding the process of developing new program proposals in a timely and well-organized manner.

Note: Multiple deliverables may fall under a specific time frame. These time frames serve only as estimations and may vary depending on a number of factors.
