Yovita Ivanova is a Bulgarian-born researcher based in Lima, Peru and the US. She is an economist (MA in Economics from the Economic University in Sofia, Bulgaria) and a sustainable development specialist (MA in International Relations from the University of Miami, US) with an extensive professional background in Europe, North and South America in areas related to climate change, biodiversity, and economy in rural communities. She has held various government positions (adviser to the VM of Agriculture in Peru, coordinator of the Agriculture Development Office of the Peruvian Anti-drug Agency) and worked as a consultant for various UN (UNEP and UNCTAD), and bilateral cooperation agencies (GIZ and USAID).

Currently, Yovita is Senior Manager at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) and a professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).
