Colin M. Slabach Ph.D. CFP® is the Faculty Lead for the Masters in Financial Planning program at NYU’s
School of Professional Studies, within its Division of Programs in Business. Before joining NYU, he was an
Assistant Professor of Retirement at The American College of Financial Services and Assistant Director of
the New York Life Center for Retirement Income. He attended Texas Tech University, where he received
his doctorate and master’s degree in personal financial planning, along with a graduate certificate in
charitable giving. He also has the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation and is
passionate about researching financial well-being, behavioral finance, retirement planning, and
charitable giving. He serves on the advisory board for the Financial Planning Association NexGen. He is
involved in other organizations such as the Financial Management Association (FMA), Society of
Financial Service Professionals (FSP), and Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education
(AICPE).
