Yasmin Alkashef is an ATA-certified Arabic translator, a court certified interpreter and a certified healthcare interpreter originally from Cairo, Egypt. She has worked as a conference interpreter for 15+ years and as a court interpreter for 5+ years. She holds an MA in translation studies and a PhD in interpreting studies both from Ain Shams University, Egypt where she also taught translation and interpreting. Her interests include translation, localization, interpreting, and interpreter training. Yasmin is the current assistant administrator of the American Translators Association Arabic Language Division (2021-2023) and volunteers in various capacities in other ATA committees.
