Margaret Carson is a literary translator, writer, and educator. Her translations from Spanish of fiction, essays and poetry include works by Remedios Varo, Juliana González Valenzuela, Sergio Chejfec, Mercedes Roffé, Teresa Ralli, and José Tomás de Cuéllar. Her translation of Remedios Varo’s creative writings will be reissued in an expanded edition in Spring 2024. She loves the translation challenges posed by literary texts (including their punctuation), and wandering through dictionaries, thesauruses and other online resources is her passion. Her articles on the gender gap in translation have appeared in IOW and philoSOPHIA, a Journal of Continental Feminism. Education. BA, Bryn Mawr College. MA, New York University.
