Jean is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University’s School of Professional Studies where he has been teaching since 2011. He received the excellence in teaching award in 2014 and the long service award in 2020. Jean has taught a broad range of finance and global management courses in both the certificate - diploma programs and in the Master’s programs in both Management and Systems and Human Resources area.


Jean Ergas is chief economist of Tigress Financial Partners LLC - focused on global macro-economic analysis providing key actionable intelligence to a team of highly professional investment advisers. He contributes regularly to international media commenting on key macro-economic issues and has been a key speaker at leading international conferences and venues. Jean is fluent in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese and has a certificate in Arabic from NYU ‘s School of Professional Studies.


He has over 30 years’ experience in global finance and risk management in which he has both held senior positions in the corporate world as well as advised sophisticated global investors. He is a specialist in banking, energy/commodities, global capital markets and risk management - insurance/reinsurance.


Jean is also a member of the adjunct faculty at Sole24Ore business school in Milan and has taught economics and finance at Manhattanville College and at the City University of New York – Lehman College. Jean has also been called as an expert speaker at prestigious world ranked institutions. Jean received a B.A. Honors from Sussex University, Master of Business Administration from New York University, and an Advanced Professional Certificate in Accounting from New York University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds FINRA Series 7 license.
