Tim P. McMahon is an accomplished marketing and communications executive who has held senior management positions at companies large and small. He was the founding marketing director at Godfather's Pizza, head of national advertising for Pizza Hut, Inc., was founder and president of an award-winning advertising and public relations firm for more than a decade, and was svp-corporate marketing and communication at ConAgra Foods, Inc., a Fortune 100 company at the time.

He has founded, owned, and operated businesses, including radio stations, marketing services agencies, and restaurants. He has counseled dozens of business-to-business and business-to-consumer firms and was responsible for top-to-top relationships with Walmart, Costco, ARAMARK, McDonald’s and others. 

McMahon also coaches executives on leadership, communication, and management issues. He has published academic papers on leadership, new media and distance learning and has presented at international academic conferences. His book, Fostering Employee Buy-in Through Effective Leadership Communication was published in 2021 by Routledge: Taylor & Francis Group. He wrote the chapter on integrated communications in the best-selling Reputation Management, now in its 4th edition.

He is currently a full-time Associate Professor of Practice teaching management, marketing, and communication at Creighton University Heider College of Business. He is an adjunct associate professor at New York University. He has taught and lectured at universities in Europe, India, and China. He has conducted seminars for professionals in the practice of leadership, sales, and integrating social and traditional media into effective business practices, with more than 15 years of teaching experience including pioneer work in online education. He was responsible for bringing the Apple Authorized Campus Store (iJay) to the Heider College of Business and was an establishing instructor of the iJay Practicum course. Most recently, he started a student-run marketing agency serving paying clients. Additionally, he developed the practicum course that supports the venture.

He was born and raised in Omaha, NE, and has earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, a Master of Arts from Seton Hall University, and a Ph.D. from Gonzaga University in Washington. He and his wife Debbie, have three children and two grandchildren.
