NYU SPS Schack Institute of Real Estate BS in Real Estate is Ranked #3 Nationally by US News & World Report

The NYU School of Professional Studies Schack Institute of Real Estate Bachelor of Science in Real Estate has been ranked #3 nationally in the category of Undergraduate Business Programs–Real Estate by US News & World Report, in its 2021 college rankings.

“Schack is one of the world’s largest and oldest centers of real estate teaching and research,” said Sam Chandan, Silverstein chair and associate dean of the Schack Institute. “Leveraging the strength of this renowned institution’s faculty and alumni, and the depth of our industry engagement, we have, in a remarkably short period of time, established a new undergraduate program that has been recognized as one of the country’s best.”

US News rankings are based on more than 17 metrics used to assess an institution’s academic quality. Career outcomes, class size, academic reputation, and instructional and educational investments are all considered.

Students in Schack’s undergraduate program hail from across the United States and more than 20 other countries. Coursework includes the NYU core curriculum and nearly 20 courses in real estate disciplines ranging from foundations of finance, accounting, and law to emerging areas of study including data analytics and sustainability. Coursework is complemented by more than 100 industry engagement programs each year, including executive speaker series, global field intensives, diversity programs examining the minority and LGBTQ experience in real estate, and three of the industry’s leading conferences, focused on capital markets, real estate investment trusts (REITs), and the women’s leadership symposium.

“This ranking differentiates the Schack Institute of Real Estate’s undergraduate program from its competitors,” noted Brian Schwagerl, a clinical assistant professor and the undergraduate academic chair at the Schack Institute. “It highlights how our small class size, industry connections, and distinguished faculty members, who have a true passion for teaching about real estate, combine to provide a stellar NYU education.”

Schwagerl added, “Students enrolled in the undergraduate program benefit greatly from our location in the heart of New York City, and the plethora of internship opportunities we offer at some of the top real estate development and finance organizations in the world. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and grateful for the dedication and hard work of all of those who made it possible.”
