Welcome Letter from the Associate Dean for the Tisch Institute for Global Sport

Dear Students,

Since its inception in 2003, the Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport has had the privilege of providing students with a superior education as they seek to further their careers. Our professional network of leaders from global organizations has been a strength of the Tisch Institute and has allowed us to be a respected leader in global sports business education.

NYU, as an institution, is committed to providing a learning environment that is challenging yet supportive of a student’s interests and needs. It is our goal to ensure not only that students succeed while they are here but also that they are well-prepared for their future endeavors beyond NYU as one of our growing alumni contingency of 1200.

As one of our current 600 undergraduate and graduate students at the Tisch Institute, I want you to know that we are a dedicated, close-knit, and supportive institute comprised of remarkably caring faculty and staff from around the world who are eager to share their unique talents and interests, perspectives, and backgrounds. We are excited and honored to work with you, and we wish you tremendous success in your every endeavor.

As Associate Dean, I hope to work with the Tisch Institute's stakeholders to build an ecosystem focused on internship and career support, study-away and international experiences, industry engagement and career mentorship, and applied research. I strongly believe that the Tisch Institute is a special group that is remarkably equipped to prepare our students for matriculation into their respective careers, and I am excited about the future.

Lastly, becoming Associate Dean of the Tisch Institute is a career-defining moment for me and my family. With the love and support of my wife, Melanie, and son, Xavier, as my foundation, I am seeking to bring a servant-leader mindset to the Tisch Institute as we support our students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Go Violets!

Sincerely,
Daniel G. Kelly II, Ph.D.
