JetBlue Ventures MasterClass

The NYU SPS Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality Innovation Hub (HI Hub) recently hosted a MasterClass session featuring Stephen Snyder, Managing Director at JetBlue Ventures. He shared insights into the captivating realm of corporate venture capital (CVC). During the session, students had the privilege of gaining valuable insights into JetBlue Ventures' approach to integrating CVC into their operations. JetBlue has been actively forging partnerships and investing in innovative startups to enhance the future of travel and hospitality, boasting an extensive portfolio of companies with which it has already collaborated.

JetBlue Ventures also delved into its new mission, which revolves around the integration of cutting-edge technologies into JetBlue's operations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of travel. Notably, JetBlue achieved a significant milestone with its first hydrogen-powered aircraft, the ATR 72-600, showcasing its operational success.

The session concluded with an overview of JetBlue Ventures' commitment to making its airline accessible and convenient in every conceivable way. Furthermore, the discussion highlighted JetBlue Ventures' recent collaboration with Joby Aviation, a company pioneering electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOLs), as they work toward developing a hydrogen-based fuel "flying taxi." The potential for hydrogen-based fuel and its promising performance could significantly reduce the reliance on fossil fuels.
