2021 ASL Induction

On Friday, April 16, 2021, the NYU SPS Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies hosted its 36th Annual Induction Ceremony for Alpha Sigma Lambda, the national honor society for adult students in higher education. The honor society’s mission is to advance the scholarship and acknowledgment of post-traditional students continuing their education. Induction criteria for current students include completing a minimum of 32 credits towards an Associate or Bachelor’s degree at NYU SPS DAUS; holding a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7; and participating in the annual induction ceremony.

This year, the ceremony was held virtually, and there were 80 candidates eligible for induction. Speakers included April Krassner, Clinical Associate Professor of Writing and faculty advisor for ASL; Associate Dean Billie Gastic Rosado; and Anna Condoulis, Associate Dean, NYU SPS Student and Alumni Affairs. The Keynote speaker was DAUS alumnus Stephven Brown, an ASL member who earned a BA in Social Sciences with a concentration in Psychology from DAUS in 2019. Today, Stephven is a Senior Manager of HR Strategy and Operations at AECOM, the world’s leading infrastructure firm.

The ceremony concluded with an oath administered by Dean Condoulis where inductees  promised to uphold the ideals and further the aims of Alpha Sigma Lambda, thus contributing and reinforcing their commitment to serve  their college and community.

The NYU Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda is Delta Upsilon.
