January Faculty Updates

On December 13, 2021, Professor Goetz was a discussant at the launch of International IDEA's Global State of Democracy Report 2021 in New York.

On January 24, 2022, Professor Jennifer Trahan organized and chaired the inaugural meeting (under her leadership) of the Global Institute for the Prevention of Aggression. The group was founded by Don Ferencz, son of the last living US Nuremberg Prosecutor, Benjamin Ferencz, and serves to connect and socialize scholarly and advocacy work related to the International Criminal Court’s crime of aggression and the illegal use of force under international law. Adjunct Assistant Professor Josh Krasna edited a collection of essays entitled "Middle East Reactions to the First Year of the Biden Administration" for a joint publication of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies. He also wrote an essay for the collection on Jordan.

CGA Professor John V. Kane appeared on The Tavis Smiley Radio show to discuss his research on the social roots of Trump support and a recent article on The Washington Post's "The Monkey Cage" blog dealing with the same subject.
