Environmental Activism in Global Perspective

This course explores the key phases in the development of the modern environmental movement in the U.S. from the 1960¿s to the present. We begin with Rachel Carson, the pioneer of this movement and conclude with current, global campaigns to address climate change. Topics include: grassroots environmental campaigns, the first Earth Day in 1970, government regulations to protect the environment, and climate change and human rights.
