History of Economic Thought

This course in History of Economic Thought traces the development of economic theory, from pre- classical thought to modern economic views. In the study of the work of major economic thinkers such as Smith, Ricardo, Mill, Marx, Veblen, and Keynes, emphasis is put on the link between theory and policy. Another theme of this course is to link past economic ideas with recent ones in a critical perspective. The aim of this course is to provide a thorough appreciation of the history of economic ideas and to deepen students¿ understanding of current economic thinking and debates.
