Maria Rivera

Maria Rivera has over ten years of Management, Sales and Technology Training, Project Management, Web Development, Video Production, and Training & Development (asynchronous and synchronous) experience in Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and professional service organizations. She led strategic initiatives at The Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute - Baruch College as the Associate Director and at CUNY School of Professional Studies/ACS Project as a Deputy Director. She is currently at NYU the School of Professional Studies as the Associate Director of the Management and Systems Graduate Degree Program. Also, She oversees the Noncredit Technology certificates and courses. She is a member of the NYUSPS IDBEA committee. As part of the NYUSPS Employee Recognition Committee, she helped create the inaugural SPS Excellence Award (April 2021). Maria has produced various blended digital media training solutions for various organizations/industries and has spoken at conferences, including the Trenton Computer Festival regarding Virtual Reality/New Media. She is also the co-organizer of the XR Learning and Training Meetup. She is one of the speakers for the 2021 International Institute for Learning - Leadership and Innovation Conference speaking about “The Reality of Extended Reality. She was also one of the panelists speaking about “Women Making a Difference in Talent Development” at the ATD Suncoast Chapter Meeting, March 18, 2021.

Why I serve on the IDBEA committee...

In December 2019 I was thrilled to learn that I would have the opportunity to serve on the SPS IDBEA standing committee. From the first meeting, I knew that this committee would be implementing measurable strategic IDBEA Initiatives. It has also been inspiring to work with the other committee members who are passionate about the work ahead, which will be transformative.
