2012 Literary and Visual Arts Festival at NYU-SCPS April 20-21

NEW YORK, April 5, 2012 – Students in the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS) will showcase their creative output work at the 2012 Literary and Visual Arts Festival on April 20 and 21 at the NYU-SCPS building at 7 East 12th Street. 

Held every two years by NYU-SCPS, the Festival will feature students’ work in creative writing, studio arts, film, digital art, and animation. Literary readings of short fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and translation will take place in the fifth floor lounge. Works of film, video, animation, 3-D printing, motion design, drawing, photography, digital and graphic design, interactive work, and web design will be displayed in the lobby and on the balcony. 
Individual works range from an elegant NYC2030 motion graphic to a high-end 3-D car commercial, a horror story short feature, and an interactive video based on data mining. More than 50 students from the School’s Paul McGhee Division; the Center for Advanced Digital Applications; Programs in the Arts, Humanities, and Writing; and the Foreign Languages, Translation, and Interpreting program will be represented.

The Festival opens on Friday, April 20 at 10 a.m., with visual works on display until 9 p.m. A literary reading will take place that evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by a reception. (Seating is limited and will be allotted on a first come, first served basis). Visual works will continue to be on display on Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
