Alex Coelho is an American banking executive and the former group CEO of Al Hilal Bank (A2/A+), departing in 2019. He has over twenty+ years of relevant global banking experience across diverse markets including the US, Latin America, GCC and Asia. Among other senior executive positions such as General Manager for Corporate Banking, Mr. Coelho also acted as Managing Director and Deputy Head of Investment Banking for the Americas at Daiwa Capital Markets in New York where he managed multiple divisions including Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Restructuring Advisory, SSA Coverage, Cross-Border M&A, Corporate Finance and Private Equity. Within Americas, Mr. Coelho covered Sovereigns, SSAs, development banks, large financial institutions and corporations across diverse sectors.

He also served as corporate banking Director with Calyon/Crédit Agricole in New York and held leading positions with ABN Amro Bank, ARB and BBA Creditanstalt (Itau BBA). Coelho majored in Economics and holds a M.Sc. from Sloan School of Management, MIT. In addition to his professional assignments, Mr. Coelho has kept active his standing as an Adjunct Lecturer at New York University’s flagship Master’s program in Management and Systems (“Managing in a Global Economy”) and with the Business Programs’ course in “Mergers and Acquisitions”. He is also a volunteer Firefighter in Armonk, NY.
