REIT Leadership
US REITs of all types collectively own more than $4 trillion in gross assets with public REITs owning $2.5 trillion in assets. US listed REITs have an equity market capitalization of more than $1.3trillion and own 580,000 properties across every property type ranging from traditional property sectors to data centers, hospitals and even timberland. Further, REIT-owned properties support approximately 3.5 million jobs. It is estimated that 50% of US households are invested in REITs through investment accounts and retirement plans. The REIT market is an incredibly important component of the real estate market, as well as the broader economy, and is a keystone in any investment strategy. This course is designed to demystify the publicly traded REIT market, exploring initial public offerings, various capital raising strategies, mergers and acquisitions, structural considerations and corporate governance.
