Kim Castro ‘08

Kim Castro is the editor and chief content officer at U.S. News & World Report. In this role, she has day-to-day oversight of all of U.S. News’s editorial content, working with editors and teams to produce the highest-quality journalism. Previously, Castro led the Consumer Advice team, which includes consumer-focused journalism from the Money, Health, Real Estate, and Travel channels. In September 2015, she joined the Executive Committee at U.S. News. Before U.S. News, Castro was a managing editor at Standard & Poor’s Corp., where she managed content creation and production of numerous equity research products. She also was head of thematic research at S&P, and in that position, she identified and developed trends, themes, and investment strategies. In addition, she edited and wrote for the company’s weekly newsletter, The Outlook, which focused on the technology sector for individual investors. A native of Pittsburgh, she earned a bachelor's degree from George Washington University and a master's degree in publishing from the NYU School of Professional Studies.

Ewing is a passionate, transformational, global technology leader with over 20 years of experience. She is Abbott’s newly appointed global CIO and vice president, Business & Technology Services, overseeing a $1B+ IT portfolio. As the global CIO, she provides executive leadership on technology strategy, policy, and capabilities across the Abbott enterprise.
Most recently, Ewing served as the global head, Business Technology for Pfizer Upjohn headquartered in Shanghai, China. Prior to her Upjohn CIO role, she held several leadership roles in the IT field at Pfizer, including vice president for Corporate Functions & Business Services Business Technology (BT) and VP of Specialty Care, Vaccines, & Oncology BT. She successfully supported the launch of the digital and analytics assets for several of Pfizer’s leading products, including Prevnar 13 Adult, Xeljanz, and IBRANCE.
A Diversity & Inclusion advocate, Ewing has been actively involved in many aspects of D&I to help build a more diverse workforce and prepare organizations for the years to come. She served as the chair of Pfizer’s Global Women’s Council, was a member of Pfizer’s Global Blacks Council, as well as the co-chair of the Pfizer African American Leadership Network. She is the founding executive sponsor for the BT Women’s Leadership Network, served as the Pfizer executive sponsor for Howard University School of Business Honors Program, Spectrum360 Film Academy for autistic young adults developing audio visual skills for employment, and executive sponsor of Pfizer’s engagement with Girls Who Code, to inspire the next generation of women in STEM.
Prior to joining Pfizer, Ewing held management roles at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, BearingPoint, and American Express. She also is a former New York City Teaching Fellow, and served as a fifth-grade teacher in the South Bronx.
She is a recipient of the 2016 Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Luminary Award and was recognized by Pharmaceutical Executive magazine the same year as an Emerging Pharma Leader. In 2019 she was announced as a Superstar by US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine and a Technology All Star by Women of Color magazine. She is a 2018 recipient of the PharmaVoice Top 100 Most Inspiring Leaders in Life Sciences Award, a 2020 Women Economic Forum Iconic Leader Creating a Better World for All Award winner, and a 2020 PhillyCIO ORBIE winner for CIO of the Year in the Global CIO category. Most recently, she was recognized by Diversity Women Magazine in its inaugural 2021 listing of the Elite 100 Black Women Executives.

Jonathan C. Kim is the founder and managing partner of Redbadge Pacific, a global alternative asset management platform. He is responsible for the development and implementation of the platform and all its investment activities. Kim also is the founding principal of Miya Capital, a multifamily investment platform that focuses on real estate and venture capital investments in the US and Asia, and the founding partner of Arrow Venture Partners. Previously, he was on the acquisitions team at Hersha Hospitality Trust, a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) listed on the NYSE, and consulted and appraised hospitality real estate for HVS Global, which is based in New York. Kim earned a BS in hospitality and tourism management from the NYU School of Professional Studies Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality, serves on the NYU President’s Global Council, the NYU Alumni Association, the Tisch Center Advisory Board, and the Milken Institute YLC. He formerly served as an NYU Young Alumni Trustee, and also was an adjunct professor at the Tisch Center.

For more than 30 years, Bryan C. Skarlatos has represented individuals and corporations in civil and criminal tax controversies, white collar criminal matters, regulatory investigations, tax whistleblower cases, and voluntary disclosures. He is often hired as an expert on tax standards, penalties, and procedures.
Skarlatos is an adjunct professor at the NYU School of Law, where he teaches the course Tax Penalties and Prosecutions. He created and chairs the annual NYU School of Professional Studies Tax Controversy Forum and the Practicing Law Institute program on Nuts and Bolts of Tax Penalties. Skarlatos is a fellow in the American College of Tax Counsel and he also has served as the chair of tax committees for many bar associations including the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York City Bar Association. He has been recognized by New York Super Lawyers as one of the Top 100 lawyers in New York, and he is listed in Best Lawyers in America where he was named Tax Litigator of the Year in New York for 2014 and 2017. He also is ranked in Band One of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
In 2019, Skarlatos was selected by the UCLA Extension Tax Controversy Institute to receive the Bruce Hochman Award for outstanding proficiency in the filed of tax law. He has published dozens of articles and speaks throughout the country on tax-related topics. He frequently is quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, USAToday, Forbes, Bloomberg, Reuters, The Financial Times, Tax Analysts-Tax Notes, and Bloomberg BNA Daily Tax Report.

Len Wolman is the chairman and chief executive officer of Waterford Hotel Group. Under his leadership, Waterford has established itself as a leading company in the hospitality industry by developing and operating hotel, gaming, and venue properties totaling more than $3 billion throughout the United States. Waterford has gained unparalleled experience in the hospitality industry through the development, ownership, and/or management of more than 100 hotels, 10,000 guest rooms, 700,000 square feet of convention and meeting space, and numerous dining establishments.
Wolman currently serves as chairman of the Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality Advisory Board, is a member of the NYU School of Professional Studies Dean’s Advisory Council, and serves on the Executive Planning Committee of the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Connecticut Science Center and chairs the Center’s Finance Committee. In addition, he serves as a member of the University of Johannesburg Board of Governors and as a founding board member of the University of Johannesburg College of Business and Economics School of Tourism and Hospitality. Wolman holds a national diploma in hotel management from the Hotel School of Technikon Witwatersrand in South Africa.
