This course will present an overview of the event-planning process and the role of events manager in helping clients and organizations to achieve their goals with measurable results. Get a peek into the career of a special events manager, and gain an understanding of what it takes to succeed in this field. In this course, you and your classmates will create a proposal for a potential client’s special event. Your comprehensive presentation will involve budget, timeline, location, agenda, vendors, staffing, decor, and theme, among other critical components. This course will include site visits to venues such as hotels, lofts, and other special event spaces. Also, top industry experts will join the class as guest speakers. Additional topics to be covered include marketing and sponsorships, design and decor, menu planning, career opportunities, and industry associations.
