Crisis Communication: Strategies for Constructive Resolutions

This course examines the impact of crisis communication during conflict situations. Regardless of the substantive nature of the conflict or crisis, obstacles often are the result of communication. Both verbal and nonverbal communications shape the course of a conflict and its constructive resolution. The purpose of this course is to provide a framework with which to apply the many communications tools available to resolve situations and achieve a successful conclusion. The class will be heavily interactive and will incorporate case studies, role-plays, lectures, and group participation. By the completion of the course, you will have a deeper understanding of the impact that communication has during conflict and crisis situations and knowledge of how to utilize these skills in a professional setting.
