French I

Second only to English for the number of countries where it has official status, French remains a useful, and beautiful, language to learn. If you are a first-time French learner, then take this introductory course to acquire basic pronunciation, vocabulary, useful expressions, and fundamental grammatical structures that allow for effective communication. Build the conversational skills needed to convey likes and dislikes, and to discuss personal information, family, relationships, and everyday activities, as well as to tell time. Classes are conducted in French to the extent possible.

Students are strongly encouraged to register by Wednesday, January 30, 2019 to help ensure a seat in the class. Please contact the Department of Foreign Languages at sps.foreignlanguages@nyu.edu with any questions, or call 212-998-7150 to register.
