ESL Listening and Speaking 8

This course for students with high-advanced-level English language ability focuses on developing the speaking and listening skills necessary to participate in situations requiring formal or professional English language skills. Students work with a variety of materials to summarize, discuss, and analyze information presented in English. They make presentations that receive peer feedback and instructor comments. Also, they learn to see both sides of an argument and to take a stand and support a position. Students improve their stress and intonation, and they learn to interpret underlying messages and to organize, develop, and critique presentations. By the end of the course, students are able in English to offer opinions and to respond to the opinions of others.
