Mel Ehrlich, adjunct associate professor, is a marketing communications professional who teaches public-relations courses at NYUSPS and has held executive positions at major global PR agencies, including Hill & Knowlton, Edelman Worldwide, and Grey Healthcare Group. He created PRSA-award-winning medical/pharmaceutical PR programs for Johnson & Johnson and Bristol-Myers Squibb, among others. He designed a skills training program and wrote and edited a monthly newsletter for Hill & Knowlton's global healthcare/pharmaceutical practice. At NYU, he teaches public-relations writing in the master's degree program in Public Relations and Corporate Communications, and PR: The Principles of the Practice in the open-enrollment certificate program. He conducts training workshops in writing for PR and advertising agencies; has taught English as a second language at the International Center, New York; and has taught at Tohoku Gakuin University, Sendai, Japan, and at Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pa. He holds a master's degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania, did graduate work in English and linguistics at Harvard and Oxford Universities, and earned a certificate in teaching English as a second language from The New School, New York.
