Joyce Gold

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Joyce Gold is a recognized expert and historical raconteur of New York City history. Through her company Joyce Gold History Tours of New York, she guides New Yorkers and visitors through the history of dozens of city neighborhoods. Joyce received a B.A in English Literature from Queens College in New York City, and an M.A. in Metropolitan Studies from NYU. For over 40 years she has been teaching Manhattan history at NYU and the New School University, published guidebooks to the Financial District and Greenwich Village, and contributed entries to The Encyclopedia of New York City. Joyce has been teaching at NYU since 1986.
