Sally Herships

Sally Herships is an award-winning journalist who's been making radio for over a decade. A frequent contributor to American Public Media's Marketplace she's also produced or reported for the BBC, The New York Times, NPR, WNYC, Studio 360, and has put in many hours at Radiolab. A 2015 US-Japan Journalism Fellow with the Japan Center for International Exchange, Sally has reported from Japan, Jamaica and India. Her 2016 piece, “As Many Leaves” produced with Falling Tree for BBC Radio 4, was rated among the top ten podcasts of the year.

Sally is the founder of UnionDoc’s Radio Boot Camp program, hosts the live storytelling event Stories You Can't Tell on the Radio. She teaches Podcasting, Radio Reporting, and Storytelling at NYUSPS in the Center for Applied Liberal Arts.
