Meenakshi Varandani, AIA, AICP is an architect, and a development planner.  She is the Director for Waterfront Permits with New York City’s Department of Small Business Services, and oversees regulatory compliance with Zoning, Building Codes, and coastal resiliency requirements for constructions along the City’s 520-mile coastline.

Previously, with the NYC Economic Development Corporation, and the Department of City Planning, she led complex public-private projects through the planning and programming phases, contributing to the development of over 10 Million Square-feet, including mixed-use commercial and residential projects, senior housing, and industrial facilities.  Layers of due diligence including entitlements and environmental impact assessments.  She holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree, and a Master of Science Degree in Urban Environmental Systems Management, bringing an integrated approach to teaching.
