Elizabeth Tippens received her MFA from Bennington College.  She is the author of the novel, Winging It, published by Putnam/Riverhead. Her short stories, essays, and articles have appeared in: Harpers, Ploughshares, Cosmopolitan, Playboy, and Rolling Stone, as well as many anthologies, including Best Short Stories of The South, The KGB Reader, and The Rolling Stone Review. In addition, Tippens has taught undergraduate writing at The New School.  At NYUSPS she has created the popular course, 5 Weeks, One Great Short Story (a short story “boot camp”), as well as her new novel course, Narrative Through Character.  Tippens teaches both novel and short story writing at NYUSPS in the Center for Applied Liberal Arts.
