Erik Madsen is the Principal Engineer and Owner of Madsen Consulting Engineering in New York City. Mr. Madsen has worked on numerous large development ground up highrises as well as structurally challenging renovations in New York City. He has taught for a number of local colleges and universities including Pratt, NYIT, and NYCCT. Mr. Madsen is an active member of the Structural Engineer’s Association of New York (SEAoNY) serving as their National Delegate after a two year term on the Board of Directors. Mr. Madsen was part of the volunteer task force that revised the New York City Building Code in 2014. He continues to serve on local and national code advisory committees. At NYUSPS he teaches courses in Adaptive Reuse: Structural Renovations as well as the course for the New York City Building Code: Structural.
