Michael Evers, M.B.A., joined NYU’s George H. Heyman, Jr. Program for Fundraising and Philanthropy as an adjunct instructor in 2007. He has over 35 years of experience in many areas of fundraising – direct mail to capital campaigns -- with an AAFRC consulting firm, at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and, since 1986, in his own consulting practice. At NYU, he teaches Foundation and Corporate Fundraising, a course in which students work directly with microcharities to develop institutional fundraising programs, and the webinars: Keys to Corporate and Foundation Fundraising and How to Ask for Large Donations -- a Beginner’s Guide to Personal Solicitation. Mr. Evers has helped found a charter school, secured passage of an affordable housing ordinance in Hoboken, NJ, trekked the Arctic, and hitchhiked over 16,000 miles, most recently in Lithuania.
