Clinical Assistant Professor

Debi Smith is the Assistant Director for Academics and a language lecturer for the American Language Institute (ALI).  She is also serving as the SPS Alternate Senator to the Full-time Continuing Contract Faculty Senators Council.  Prior to accepting the Assistant Director position, Debi was the coordinator for the Comprehensive English Program within the ALI and taught English as a Second Language (ESL) listening, speaking, reading, and writing courses.  Before coming to NYU, Debi taught English as a Second/Foreign Language in Maryland, Ohio, Texas, South Korea, and Argentina.

ESL Reading and Writing: Beginner A

This integrated-skills course covers English listening, speaking, reading, and writing for students with beginner-level English training.

ESL Essential Skills A

This integrated-skills course covers English listening, speaking, reading, and writing for students with beginner-level English ability.

This integrated-skills course covers English listening, speaking, reading, and writing for students with beginner-level English training.

ESL Listening and Speaking: Intermediate B

As an intermediate-level English student, continue improving your English grammar and vocabulary while learning to express your ideas better verbally.
