Program Description

Building information modeling (BIM) and Autodesk’s Revit software with its parametric building modeling capabilities are quickly becoming industry standards in building design. The powerful Revit design tool allows users to create and maintain a parametric building model for working drawings, massing studies, renderings, construction documentation, and project coordination. The Professional Diploma in Revit provides the specialized skills to generate professional drawings effectively and efficiently that are necessary to work in the building design and construction industries.

As a student in the Diploma program, you will learn the Revit user interface and commands, as well as the professional practice techniques of the design development process. This diploma enables you to create full 3D architectural project models, real-time working drawings, and high-quality renderings. Additionally, you will learn to use the collaborative capabilities of the Revit software for streamlining design concepts to a set of working drawings.

The Professional Diploma in Revit, which can be completed in-person in one semester, provides skills required for computer-aided design jobs in architecture, engineering, and construction. The Diploma delivers a practical application of knowledge and experience that enables a robust, hands-on learning experience.

Work Product

As a participant in this program, you will create, manage, and complete a work set of 2D architectural drawings based upon standard architectural practices, and then you will create three-dimensional renderings of the project depicted in the work set. You will learn how to develop and manage your workflow efficiently and in professional manner. This will be a process that develops through the courses, with the same 2D project developing and eventually culminating in a rendered 3D model. This affords a solid comprehension of what is entailed in a complete BIM project.
