ESL Listening and Speaking 8 - S

In this course for high-advanced-level English speakers, students focus on developing the speaking and listening skills necessary to participate in situations requiring formal or professional English language skills. They work with a variety of materials to summarize, discuss, and analyze information presented. They learn to organize, develop, and critique presentations. Then, they make presentations for which they receive peer feedback and instructor comments. Students learn to see both sides of an argument and to take a stand and support a position. They also improve their stress and intonation when speaking and their ability to interpret underlying messages. By the end of the course, students are able in English to offer opinions and to respond to the opinions of others.
