Writing, Messaging, and Communication Strategy for Fundraising

A successful fundraising program must have a viable communication strategy. This course will examine how and why an organization communicates its fundraising needs and efforts to current donors, prospects, and others who influence private support to the organization. The course will discuss a variety of communication tools including cases for support, annual appeal letters, email messages, web presence, individual major donor proposals, gift agreements, pledge documentation, stewardship reports, and corporate and foundation grant proposals. Each of the development communication tools begins with the organization’s case for support.

Note: Full participation in Writing, Messaging and Communication Strategy for Fundraising is applicable for 20 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
