Arabic: Modern Standard II

Did you know that the most common word for love in Arabic comes from the same root word as seed, and so has the potential to grow into something beautiful? Grow the seed you planted in Arabic: Modern Standard I/MIDE1-CE9001 or its equivalent by taking this course, which is designed for those who already know the Arabic alphabet and basic pronunciation. The course focuses on all four core language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), and is taught within a cultural context. Discussions include the differences between Modern Standard Arabic and various dialects, based on learners’ needs. Classes are conducted in Arabic to the extent possible.

Students are strongly encouraged to register by Wednesday, September 12, 2018 to ensure a seat in the class. Please contact the Department of Foreign Languages at sps.foreignlanguages@nyu.edu with any questions, or call 212-998-7150 to register.
