This course is a preview to college-level statistics, with an emphasis on developing and applying math skills used in high school. It focuses on technical and analytical skills used in quantitative courses at the college level, such as economics, finance, and statistics. Topics covered include statistical symbols and formulas, descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, standard deviation, variance), a review of statistical tables, discrete (binomial distribution) and continuous probability distributions (the “normal” curve), logarithmic and exponential functions, and an introduction to calculus.
