Mandarin II

As the world becomes increasingly globalized, Mandarin has become a top language to study, whether for a professional edge, intercultural competence, or travel adventures. This course builds on Mandarin I or its equivalent, with emphasis placed on two core skills (listening and speaking) and gradual emphasis on reading and writing. Continue to expand your vocabulary and sentence structures, and engage in basic conversations on a wider range of topics. Both traditional and simplified characters are taught, and with 75 new characters introduced during the course, you’ll have 125 characters mastered by the conclusion of Levels I and II. Classes are conducted in Mandarin to the extent possible.
Students are strongly encouraged to register by Wednesday, September 12, 2018 to ensure a seat in the class. Please contact the Department of Foreign Languages at sps.foreignlanguages@nyu.edu with any questions or call 212-998-7150 to register.
