Susan R. Kinsey is divisional dean of Liberal Studies and Allied Arts at NYU-SCPS, which includes the M.S. in Translation program. Before joining New York University in 2007, Dr. Kinsey served as associate vice provost for Continuing Education at the University of Pittsburgh and dean of the College of General Studies. Dr. Kinsey has worked in the field of adult and nontraditional education for over 25 years, both in the U.S. and in Europe, where she spent eight years developing continuing education programs for a European audience in addition to serving on the national standards and practices committee for workforce training in France. A former Woodrow Wilson Fellow, and the recipient of a Columbia University President¿s Fellowship, she earned an M.A. and a Ph.D. in French Literature from Columbia University, and she obtained a TESOL certificate from the Royal Society of Arts in England. Over the years, she has published and presented at conferences on a variety of topics ranging from her disciplinary specialty in French literature to the issues of the day in the field of adult and continuing education.
