The NYUSPS Sports and Society program hosts several events each year that address the most current and important issues at the intersection of sports and society. These events contribute to audience members' education and add a unique perspective to contemporary discourse. Panelists from past events have included star athletes, top sports business executives, sports commentators, and sports attorneys and agents.

Sports and Society program events vary in scale and format—from small workshops with specific groups to multiday international conferences, which are open to the public. Topics have included: ethics in sports, the implications of mega sports for the Gulf States, athletes’ perspectives on risk, the evolution of extreme and fringe sports, the future of sports, gender issues in sports, unifying anti-bullying policies, among others.
