Summer Programs—Admitted Students
Welcome to the NYU School of Professional Studies High School Academy! We are excited that you will be joining us this summer. Our summer programs provide a unique opportunity for high school students to explore career options in a professionally oriented environment.
To ensure that your time with us is both informative and enjoyable, we have provided the following information to help you prepare for what we know will be the educational experience of a lifetime. Please read this information carefully.

The Career Edge program offers four consecutive sessions from which to choose. Students can enroll in one course per session and can opt to attend multiple sessions. The Aspire program offers one session, and the NYUSPS Summer College program offers two sessions.
Attendance in all classes and participation in all aspects of the program are required for successful completion. All classes are held at the NYU School of Professional Studies building, which is located at 7 East 12th Street. Field trips and outings throughout the City are part of the curriculum for many of the NYU School of Professional Studies High School Academy programs.
Each session begins with a student orientation that takes place on the Sunday prior to the start of classes. Attending orientation is mandatory and will help you to become grounded in the academic aspects of the program in which you are enrolled as well as the more general day-to-day routine.

Before You Arrive
To prepare for the start of the NYUSPS High School Academy, all admitted students and parents/guardians should read the NYU School of Professional Studies High School Academy Handbook so they are familiar with the rules and the policies of the program. The required forms that all admitted students must submit in order to participate in the program are due by Friday, June 23, 2017.
These forms can be completed and signed electronically. To submit the forms, log back into your NYU School of Professional Studies High School Academy application, click the "View" option, and then click "Upload Attachments."

During the Program
All program and University communications will be sent via email, and students should read their emails before and during the program.
Housing and Dining
Campus housing has a dedicated team of professional and student staff members to ensure students' safety, to provide a sense of community, and to oversee administrative operations. Students living on campus will have a strict curfew that will be enforced by residential hall staff. Students also are responsible for getting themselves to and from class.
NYUSPS High School Academy students living on campus are required to participate in a campus meal plan, which provides access to NYU campus dining facilities.
Safety and Health
Student safety is very important at NYU and there are many resources and services available to students should they need assistance during the program. Information on health and safety resources can be found on the NYUSPS High School Academy blog.
In order to ensure their safety, students will be required to abide by the program and University policies included in the High School Academy Handbook. Students who violate our policies will face disciplinary action that may include, but is not limited to, dismissal from the program without a refund.
The NYUSPS High School Academy summer experience begins with student check-in and orientation the Sunday before class starts. Classes are scheduled Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. For an example of a student schedule, visit the NYUSPS High School Academy blog.
Field Trips and Outings
Field trips and outings are part of the curriculum for many of the NYUSPS High School Academy classes. Students should come prepared to walk and to be outside on hot summer days. Please remember to pack comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and a hat.
All of our students are encouraged to participate in evening and weekend programs outside of class time. These activities are organized to provide students with the opportunity to explore all that New York City has to offer and to experience student life on campus. Evening and weekend programs outside of classroom are covered by the program fee, which all students pay. This fee covers the cost of programs, but it does not include personal expenses, such as souvenirs or transportation. Students should budget for any additional costs they anticipate.
Typically, travel throughout the City is by subway or bus. Students are required to purchase a Metrocard to access NYC public transit.

Once you have completed the program, you can request an official NYU transcript, indicating your successful completion of the program.
