NEW YORK, February 11, 2014 – Douglas Elliman Real Estate and the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate, a division of the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS), are pleased to announce the Douglas Elliman Scholarship Master’s Candidates Recipients for Spring 2014: Meghan Mulgrew and Josue Zarate. The Douglas Elliman Scholars were chosen through a rigorous selection process and will each receive funds toward tuition for the degree in which they are enrolled within the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.
Established by Douglas Elliman in 2012, the Douglas Elliman Scholarship is the first program of its kind funded by a residential real estate firm for NYU Schack. Douglas Elliman is donating a total of $100,000 over five years to support qualified students who seek the highest standard of education in either NYU Schack’s M.S. in Real Estate or the M.S. in Real Estate Development programs. Ms. Mulgrew and Mr. Zarate will be recognized at Douglas Elliman’s annual company awards ceremony on February 12th at Cipriani 42nd Street.
“The Douglas Elliman Scholarship program is entering its third year, and we couldn’t be prouder,” said Dottie Herman, President and CEO of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. “We are absolutely committed to investing in the next generation of leading real estate professionals and raising the bar of excellence in the greater real estate industry.”
Mulgrew is working toward a Master of Science in Real Estate Development with a concentration in Business of Development, and Zarate is working toward a Master of Science in Real Estate with a concentration in Finance and Investment. Both students are top achievers at NYU Schack who maintain A averages.
“NYU Schack is so pleased to work with Douglas Elliman to present scholarships to outstanding students like Josue and Meghan, our new winners. We look forward to continuing our partnership and enabling even more students to find success in the real estate industry with the help of this scholarship program,” said Rosemary Scanlon, divisional dean, clinical associate professor, and Klara and Larry Silverstein Chair at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.
