NYU Schack Announces Final Speakers for 16th Annual REIT Symposium

High-Level Players Ackman, Neithercut, Ratner and Rufrano to Join Prominent Dais

NEW YORK, March 30, 2011 - The REIT Center at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate (scps.nyu.edu/schack) announced today that high-profile executives William Ackman of Pershing Square Asset Management, David Neithercut of Equity Residential, Charles Ratner of Forest City Enterprises, Inc., and Glenn Rufrano of Cushman & Wakefield will participate in next week’s 16th Annual REIT Symposium – A New REIT Era?. 

Ackman, who leads one of the world’s largest hedge funds, will take part in the lunchtime investor roundtable, which is certain to be a highlight of the event. Neithercut, who helms one of the largest apartment REITs in the nation, will participate in a morning session focused on emerging growth opportunities in the mergers and acquisitions market.  Ratner, president and CEO of one of the city’s largest development firms, will sit on a panel focused on financing and debt.  Rufrano, who is the CEO of the global firm C&W, will participate in a panel that will take a look at restructuring and recapitalizing.

The influential conference takes place next Thursday, April 7th at the Pierre Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

Headlined by industry legends Steven Roth, William L. Mack, and Samuel Zell, the best and the brightest REIT minds will be in attendance in early April.
This year’s keynote address will be given by Debra A. Cafaro, chairman and CEO of Ventas, Inc., a leading healthcare real estate investment trust. Cafaro was responsible for negotiating two acquisitions recently totaling $10.5 billion for Ventas, Inc., including Nationwide Health Properties for $7.4 billion in stock.
